Hosting The Big Game Party This Weekend?

If you’re hosting the party this Sunday you might be pretending that it’s all about who wins between the Patriots and the Seahawks. Don’t kid yourself, the point of any party is to have a great time and not over stress yourself as the hostess. The key to party success is to start now. Once the kickoff happens, you’ll be able to kick back and enjoy the game with your guests.

If this is a last minute party, never fear, social media is here. You already have the guest list in your head right? As long as you know the who, what, when, and where you’re good to go. Send a mass text to all of your friends or jump on Facebook to create the event. Don’t forget to tell people to RSVP and if it’s going to be a BOYB or a pitch-in party.

Next, get your menu together. If you’re cooking the main dish like chili you could suggest your friends bring things like cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, extra hot sauce. Once they confirm who’s bringing what you can put your grocery list together. If you’re thinking about ordering carry out or pizza call now to make sure your order can be accommodate for the time you choose. If you think the pizza place down the street has great wings that would go perfect with pizza odds are there are a lot of other people that do too. Make the call now!

If you’re cooking get to the grocery store. You don’t want to be stuck in line on Saturday getting your stuff. Don’t forget about ice, glasses, plates (if you’re going the disposable route.) Other things, napkins, toilet paper, paper towels.

Early Saturday morning you’ll want to start cleaning your apartment. Clean, clean, then clean some more. If there is a lot to clean focus on the where your friends will be most of the time – kitchen, entry way, bathroom, room where you’re watching the game. After that if there is anything you can prep food wise do it. Revisit your menu and see if you’ve forgotten anything at the store, now is the time to get that stuff.

Sunday morning, you cook, and quickly go over what you’ve already cleaned again.

If you’ve ordered food call and confirm the time for pick up or delivery.

Check out your TV just to make sure every thing is working properly, you don’t want any surprises.

Sunday afternoon get things on platters, get your glasses and plates set up, as much as you can do get it done now. If you’re picking up food, get going!

An hour before your guests arrive sit down and have a drink, great ready to have a great time with your friends! You’ve made it to the Big Game goal line.

By the way, who are you cheering for?
