Bread and Circuses Bistro and Bar: Great Brunch Fare Inspired by Great Literature

Many people describe brunch at Bread and Circuses Bistro and Bar as offbeat and delightful, which is kind of this eatery’s brand. Its own website describes the fare served here as “contemporary American cuisine with a bohemian flare,” another way to aptly characterize the unique brunch dishes.

Come to the eatery between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sundays to try the inventive eats for yourself, like the strawberry bruschetta with orange marmalade, mascarpone, goat cheese, and a drizzle of pomegranate balsamic. After you whet your appetite with the bruschetta, dig into the Poseidon omelet with shrimp, scallops, and jumbo lump crab or the Orwell sandwich with pulled pork and coleslaw.

You may notice that some of the restaurant’s dishes are named for great literary figures or characters, which hints at its team’s love of great literature. That’s why Bread and Circuses also hosts author signings every Saturday this summer, paired with lunch that starts at noon.
