Soaking up the summer is easy at Sherwood Gardens, located right here in the bustling city of Baltimore. Sherwood Gardens is known for its tremendous display of tulips, planted there many years ago by Baltimore native, John. W. Sherwood as a way to enliven the urban landscape.

Be sure to check out the fun and informational events that are offered at Sherwood Gardens every year, especially if you have kids. The tulip dig is one example; it occurs every Memorial Day weekend and involves digging up old tulip blooms to make room for the summer flowers that are next to sprout! You also won’t want to miss the enormous tulip display, which happens at the end of April. The tulip display covers 28 beds of flowers and expands over 6 acres of land and is filled with unique, beautiful, blooming tulips, usually imported from Holland. This is a picture-worthy event of a lifetime!
